Casement CONSTRUCTION Low-maintenance, durable, extruded aluminum clad exterior with the timeless elegance of natural pine (standard) on the interior (prime, paint or stain optional), water-repellent and preservative-treated. Alternative interior wood species available. Basic jamb width 4-9/16". PERFORMANCE GLAZING Available in all Hurd ComfortGlaze options except Hurd FeelSafe. (See FeelSafe Casement.) WEATHERPROOFING Perimeter weatherstrip on sash and frame. Positive locking mechanism draws sash tight against weatherstrip. OPERATION Sleek, new Encore folding handle with geared operator for smooth operation. Dual arm operator opens a full 90 degrees for ease of cleaning. Contemporary DLX single lever sash lock. Concealed sliding nylon shoe hinges applied directly to sash for clean exterior. Adjustable stainless steel hinge track for maximum support. OPTIONS Screens: Aluminum frame with charcoal color fiberglass cloth is standard, aluminum mesh optional. Block and tackle balance mechanism for smooth operation. Flush mounted locks: positive locking mechanism draws sash tight together against weatherstrip (two locks on glass units 32" and wider). Fingertip groove milled in bottom and top rail is optional. OPTIONS Balance colors: White on all white and eggshell units, almond on all other colors, unless specified. Two operable sash and a fixed center sash on three-lite units. Operable sash glides in vinyl head and sill tracks. Cam lock and keeper located on meeting stiles (two on glass units 36" or taller). Zinc die-cast sash pull located on operable sash. Easy sash removal. OPTIONS Screens: Aluminum frame is painted to match exterior cladding. Geometric Shapes CONSTRUCTION The timeless elegance of natural pine (standard) on the interior, water repellent and preservative-treated. Alternative interior wood species available, including cedar, maple, red oak, birch, douglas fir, white oak, beech, cherry, lyptus, mahogany and walnut. Basic jamb width is 4-9/16". For shapes over sliding patio doors, the basic jamb width is 5". DIRECT SET Glass set directly into frame. SASH and FRAME Fixed sash installed in a frame or jamb. Available in non-radius or radius shapes. PERFORMANCE GLAZING Available in double-glazed with Low-E, argon filled glass in a 9/16" or 3/8" air space sealed insulating unit, dependent on glass size. ClimaGuard SPF UV protection glass also available. OPTIONS Decorative glazing: Bronze, gray, obscure or stained glass. Grilles: Vintage Series (SDL) wood in tree different profiles and several different sizes. Aluminum finish internal SDL spacer bars are standard. White or black available. Option to mix Vintage SDL dimensions and profiles. Factory Paint: Choose from over 180 factory-applied colors. Also available: custom colors; two-tone; or split-finish. Factory Stain: Choose from 10 factory-applied stains. Also available in two-tone and split-finish options. Bay or Bow CONSTRUCTION A bay usually consists of a large fixed window between two casement or double hung units. A bow consists of several casements or double hung units mulled together; creating a smooth arc or bow.
